PE Policy (106.14 Kbytes) hot! 23 May 2013
The aims of the Physical Education (P.E.) programme are directly related to the overall aims of the school. As a school we aim to provide challenging work in achievable steps, and to give every child a feeling of success in a range of physical activities. These include gymnastics, dance, games, swimming and water safety, athletics and outdoor and adventure activities. In developing a child’s self esteem we take every opportunity to acknowledge their contribution as valuable. Hence P.E. seeks to enable all children to work towards becoming independently active within the school and the community. PE contributes to the overall education of young people by providing challenges and fulfilment throughout life.

Special Educational Needs Policy (656.35 Kbytes) hot! 23 May 2013
We at Primrose Hill Primary School are committed to meeting the Special Educational Needs of all pupils in our care and ensuring that they make progress whilst at our school. In line with our mission statement, we profess that all pupils at Primrose Hill School share the right to a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum. We will strive to ensure that all pupils with Special Educational Needs will achieve maximum access to this curriculum and make subsequent progress through co-operation, understanding and planning skills shared by teachers, support staff, support agencies, parents, governors and children.
Attitudes to children with SEN will be positive and constructive to promote a positive pupil self-image and to maintain high, yet realistic expectations.
This policy addresses the issues set out in The Education (Special Education Needs) (Information) (England) Regulations 1999, which can be found at the back of the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice ( DFES November 2001 )

Child Protection Policy (860.35 Kbytes) hot! 23 May 2013

This policy has been prepared for the support of all teaching and support staff who come into contact with pupils and for volunteers working within the school, to explain the arrangements for child protection. Its contents are available to parents, carers and pupils. A statement about the School’s responsibilities in child protection is made in the School’s prospectus. This statement includes information on the legal requirement to report to Social Services all concerns of suspected abuse and mistreatment.

This policy has been reviewed in response to the amendments to “Safeguarding Children Procedures” and “Working Together to Safeguard Children” to the recommendations of the DfES/0027/2007 circular “Safeguarding Children in Education”, that place the education service’s responsibilities for making child protection arrangements on a statutory basis.

This policy was accepted by the Governing Body in March 2009. This responsible person for the implementation and review of the policy is the Headteacher.
