Just a reminder - the children really enjoyed shooting goals to raise monies for their own library last Friday. Could I please ask that all sponsorship forms and money be returned by this Friday so that we can order the ‘gifts’ from Speedmark. Thank you.
ENVIRONMENT DAY – TUESDAY 19TH JUNE
Thank you to everyone who helped their child/ren participate in yesterday’s environmental day. We raised £142.20 for Water Aid.
INFANT FOOTBALL COACHING OPPORTUNITY WITH PRESTON NORTH END (FRIDAYS)
You will have already received a letter from Preston North End Coaches who are to return and deliver 4 more coaching sessions before the end of term. These are planned to start this Friday the 22nd June after school. If there are any further children in Reception, Class 1 or 2 are interested in taking part, please return the slip with payment by tomorrow so that they can arrange the correct number of coaches required. Thank you.
AUTHOR VISIT FOR YEARS 3 & 4 AT EUXTON LIBRARY – FRIDAY 22ND JUNE- 11AM
Our Year 3 & Year 4 children have been invited to Euxton Library this Friday 22nd June, to meet an illustrator, Steve Hutton, and talk to him about his books. Please could parents in these classes sign a consent slip attached to this newsletter to allow your child to attend. We would also warmly encourage parents to come with us and help us walk down to the library. The talk will begin at the library at 11am and last for about an hour. We would like to depart from the school at approximately 10.40am.
CRICKET CLUB
This Thursday, 21st June will be a match against Bretherton CE Primary. The next training session will be on Thursday 28th June..
TRIGOLF TOURNAMENT (YEARS 3 & 4)
Owing to our success at the district golf competition, we have been invited to take part in the Lancashire Games which will take place in Blackpool on Monday 25th June. Team members have received event letters but further information has come through informing us that all children in the team should meet at Flat Iron Car Park, Union Street, Chorley at 8am to be coached to Blackpool Sports Centre. Children are to arrive for 9am and will depart at 3pm. Parents are welcome to spectate and collect, but we should return back at Flat Iron Car Park at approximately 4pm-4.15pm. Children will require a packed lunch. Can all forms please be returned to school by this Friday 22nd June. Thank you.
CAMP NIGHT SATURDAY 23RD JUNE
Dust off your tents and be prepared for aCamp Night on Saturday 23rd June. Refreshments are arranged both in the evening and the morning after! Ice cream van visits are arranged. Games will be held on the field and parents and grandparents will be invited to pitch a tent on the school field for just £5. This is usually a fantastic event if the weather is kind. Please watch out for a forthcoming poster giving more details. Please complete the slip attached if you are interested in joining us, if you have not already done so.
Please note – the present weather forecast is cold, wet and unsettled over this weekend. I shall make a decision on Thursday following a (normally) very accurate forecast. If this event does not take place this weekend, we shall then look to hold this event on Saturday 30th.

Our ‘Union Jack’ raised £131 for Derian House on the Friday before half term. Thank you for your generous donations.
PARKLANDS INDUCTION EVENING
Just a reminder for the children in Y6 who will be going to Parklands – the Induction Evening will be from 6-7pm in Parklands School Hall tonight.

WALKING BUS
Just to remind you that the Walking Bus is available every day and is currently very healthily attended. Children seem to be enjoying the social life it offers each morning. A member of staff (usually Mr Shields or Miss Tallis) will arrive at Spar at approximately 8.25am and leave promptly at 8.30am for school. If you wish your child to join ‘the bus’, please inform Mr Shields.
