Dear Parents,
BE AWARE!
There was an incident last Saturday evening at approximately 8.30pm when 2 very local children (playing only 10/20 yards from their home), were approached inappropriately be 2 men. Thankfully the very frightened children knew to run home immediately. The police have been informed and the incident is currently under investigation. Please be extra vigilant with your children to keep them safe.
PARENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE
If there are any questionnaires still to be ‘posted’, then please do so by tomorrow, Thursday 5th July. Many thanks for all questionnaires already submitted, there are many kind remarks and suggestions to think over.
‘MOVING UP’ SESSION
We will be inviting our children to meet their new teacher next week on Monday afternoon. Children will visit their next classroom and spend some time with their new teacher. Year 6 will be travelling to Parklands for the afternoon for a musical session with the head of music.
JUDO
Please note, because of our ‘Moving Up’ session next week, our Judo lesson has had to be changed and will be held on Tuesday 10th July in the afternoon instead of Monday 9th July.
DISCO
This Friday, due to popular demand, we would like to hold an infant and junior disco after school. The infant disco will start at 6.30pm until 7.15pm. Parents will be welcome to drop off their children at the junior door as usual. We would like to ask all infant parents to collect their children from the front entrance. The junior disco will commence at 7.30 and last until 8.15pm. Juniors may be dropped off and collected at their usual junior entrance. Tickets will be £2 and will include a bag of crisps and a drink. Children may bring additional money to buy snacks if they/you wish.
YEAR 6 EXTRAVAGANZA FOR ALL CLASSES – THURSDAY 12TH JULY
Next Thursday 12th July we would like to invite all children throughout the school to the Year 6 Extravaganza Event which the Year 6 pupils plan and run by them (with a little direction!) in order to raise funds for their own leaver’s trip. Classes will receive a timetable as to when they will be able to come and visit this event. We would like to suggest that children bring a suggested amount of £2 to this event, which they will be able to spend on enjoyable activities, games and competitions including: hair, nails, tattoos, face painting and games stalls.
Year 6 would like to ask for any donations of unwanted toys and games to come into school from now until the day of the event. It may be a good chance to have clear out! Many thanks for your support!
READING & LIBRARY BOOKS
Please can you ensure that your child/ren return all reading and Library books by Monday 16th July in order for us to complete our annual audit. We can then purchase new books to replace ‘well read’ books over the summer holiday. Thank you.
LIFE BUS
The Life Education Mobile Classroom will be in school next Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th July. We have had this facility visit Primrose Hill for several years now and it has always proved very popular, giving the children a different learning experience. Each class will be allocated a time on one of these days to have a lesson in the mobile classroom. The children will learn about how their body works and how to stay healthy. More information can be found on the leaflet. As usual we have arranged for a parent session on the Bus, which will be held on Tuesday 10th July from 2.40pm – 3.00pm. This will be a free session open to all parents who wish to participate.
To enable this important facility to visit the school we are requesting that each child donate £2 (the majority of the cost will be covered by school). If you have not already done so, please fill in the slip provided and return with payment by this Friday 6th July.
PLEASE REMEMBER WE ARE STILL COLLECTING:-
* Nestle Box Tops * Batteries * Clothing, Bedding etc for the clothes bank at the rear of school
WALKING BUS
Just to remind you that the Walking Bus is available every day and is currently very healthily attended. Children seem to be enjoying the social life it offers each morning. A member of staff (usually Mr Shields or Miss Tallis) will arrive at Spar at approximately 8.25am and leave promptly at 8.30am for school. If you wish your child to join ‘the bus’, please inform Mr Shields.
DIARY DATES
Please note that we have made every effort to ensure that these dates are correct, but some may have to be changed at short notice due to availability of visitors or clashes with other events, the times and dates of such we have yet to be informed.
