Celebrating 50 Years of Primrose Hill

This week we have been celebrating Primrose Hill being open for 50 years.
To celebrate, we decided to find out about amazing sporting achievements from the past 50 years.
We learnt about many amazing athletes including; Mark Spitz, Olga Korbett, Daley Thompson, Micheal Jordan, Usain Bolt and Simone Biles.

After finding about these athletes  we tried lots of different sports.

Ash class have had a fantastic ‘No Pens Day.’
This morning the children created their own ‘Maths Museums’ using lots of different mathematical resources.
In English, the children used drama and role play to become different African animals from our alternative ‘Handa’s Hen’ story ( lizard, lion, crocodile, gorilla ). Lots of brilliant vocabulary was used.
In the afternoon the children played lots of different phonics and reading games.
Well done to everybody !

Handa’s Surprise - The Movie

Recently the children in Ash class have been learning about the story Handa’s Surprise.
On Friday, the children made a ‘Handa’s Surprise’ movie. The children took the roles of the animals stealing the fruit and described the fruit using adjectives as they stole it.
After making the movie, the children watched it back and talked about what they liked about the movie and how they could make the movie better.
Well done Ash class you are excellent actors and actresses.
