Olympus - La Fete des Rois

Today, Olympus celebrated the French day of La Fete des Rois - the ‘12th day of Christmas’ when the wise men/kings visited Jesus. The children learnt all about the tradition of making a galette (cake) in which to hide a small figure (we used a skittle!) - a very similar tradition to the old hiding a coin in a Christmas pudding. They wrote a script for role play and then…the best part…acted it out complete with eating a slice of cake! Whoever found the skittle in their slice became king or queen for the rest of the day.
