RE- Islam Day in Elm Class

 

What a fantastic morning we had when Mr Anwar came to visit us. He is a Muslim and came to discuss his Islamic Faith with all.

 

First he talked to us about Wudhu and we learned that we wash our hands, mouth, nose, face, arms, head, ears neck and feet before prayer.

He showed us the clean clothes he wears for Salah (prayer).

He then showed us the Quran .

 

We were impressed when we saw his beautiful prayer mat, as it looked like it was made in special Primrose colours !

 

In class , Mr Anwar talked to us about the five pillars of Islam

Shahadah – declaring belief in Allah. There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is his messenger.

Salah – prayer. Prayers must be performed five times a day.

Zakat – charity giving to the poor and needy.

Swam – fasting during Ramadan

Hajj – visiting the Kaaba in Mecca.

 

 

We thought of some questions.

 

And Mr Anwar answered them for us.

 

We had a great time.
