Stone Age Day - making food and jewellery
Thu 30 Sep 2021Another activity the children took part in during Stone Age Day was making Stone Age jewellery and Stone Age cookies. The children used salt dough to make their own stylish necklaces! Stone Age people used bones and animal teeth for their jewellery so the children shaped the salt dough into similar shapes. They also followed a recipe to make oat cookies. Not everybody was keen on the finished biscuit!

A Day at Mere Tun - An Anglo Saxon Village.
Thu 30 Sep 2021Year 4 Ben Nevis had a fantastic day today learning all about Anglo Saxons.
The children took part in four different activities thatching, weaving, foraging and battle training. The children all had a brilliant day and have definitely developed their knowledge of what life was like for the Anglo Saxons. -
Stone Age Day- Designing and making settlements
Thu 30 Sep 2021Year 3 had a fantastic time during Stone Age Day! One of the activities was designing and making a settlement. The children thought about what resources would be needed, including building materials, a water source and food. They all looked wonderful!

Stone Age Day - Shelter Building
Tue 28 Sep 2021For Stone Age Day, the children took part in shelter building. Like all good Hunter Gatherers, the children were tasked with designing and creating a shelter for their entire group to fit into and keep them dry. The results were great and there was a lot of amazing team work.

Stone Age Day - Fire Lighting
Tue 28 Sep 2021As part of our Stone Age Day, the children in year 3 got to experience making fire! The children used fire steels rather than actual flint stone but still had to create a spark by striking the metal. Despite the wind and rain, all the children persevered and did a great job. They finished the activity with toasted marshmallows to celebrate.

Mont Blanc - Litter picking
Fri 10 Sep 2021Mont Blanc did a sterling job cleaning up the school grounds as part of the Chorley Litter Pick. Lots of enthusiasm and some eagle-eyed children! Many thanks to the Euxton Parish Council for the loan of their litter pickers.

Olympus - litter picking
Fri 10 Sep 2021This morning Olympus took part in the Chorley Litter Pick, cleaning up the streets next to the school. They were fantastic, enthusiastically spotting and picking up litter (with litter pickers generously loaned by Euxton Parish Council) and ensuring nothing spotted their eagle eyes!

Olympus - great start to the new year!
