Safeguarding at Primrose Hill
At Euxton Primrose Hill Primary School, safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
The safety, wellbeing and happiness of every child is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive and secure environment where children feel safe, valued and able to thrive.
We work closely with families and partner agencies to ensure every child receives the support they need, recognising that effective safeguarding is built on strong relationships, vigilance and a shared commitment to children's welfare.

How We Keep Children Safe
Safeguarding is embedded throughout school life. We do this by:
- Providing a safe, caring and inclusive environment.
- Teaching pupils how to keep themselves safe, both online and offline.
- Listening to children and taking their concerns seriously.
- Working closely with parents and external agencies.
- Ensuring all staff receive regular safeguarding training.
- Following robust safeguarding policies and procedures.
Online Safety
Helping children stay safe online is an important part of safeguarding.
Through our curriculum and regular awareness activities, we teach pupils how to use technology responsibly, recognise potential risks and know where to seek help if something worries them.
Operation Encompass
Operation Encompass is a national initiative that helps schools provide immediate support to children who may have experienced domestic abuse.
If the police attend an incident of domestic abuse where a child is present, the school may be informed before the start of the next school day. This enables us to offer appropriate care, support and understanding, helping children to feel safe and ready to learn.
All information is shared confidentially and only with staff who need to know in order to support the child.
Prevent Duty
The Prevent Duty is part of the government's wider strategy to safeguard children from radicalisation and extremism.
At Primrose Hill, we promote respect, tolerance and British values through our curriculum and school ethos. Staff receive regular training to recognise any signs that a child may be vulnerable to extremist influences and know how to respond appropriately.
Our aim is to help all children become safe, respectful and responsible members of society.

If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child, please contact a member of our safeguarding team immediately.
If your concern is outside school hours and a child is at immediate risk of harm, contact Children's Social Care or the Police by dialling 999 in an emergency.
