Thank you for considering Euxton Primrose Hill Primary School for your child.

Choosing the right school is an important decision, and we are delighted you are thinking about joining our school community. Whether you are applying for a Reception place or moving into the area during the school year, we are here to help make the admissions process as simple and straightforward as possible.

Reception Admissions

Children usually start primary school in the September following their fourth birthday.

Euxton Primrose Hill Primary School is a community school, and Lancashire County Council is our Admissions Authority. Applications for Reception places should be made through Lancashire County Council during the published admissions period.

Published Admission Number (PAN)

Our Published Admission Number is 60 pupils each year.

If there are more applications than places

Places are allocated by Lancashire County Council using the following oversubscription criteria:

  • Looked after and previously looked after children
  • Exceptional medical, social or welfare reasons
  • Brothers and sisters already attending the school
  • Distance from the school

Deferred or Delayed Admission

Parents may request a deferred or part-time start until their child reaches compulsory school age, or request admission outside their child's normal age group. Please contact the school office if you would like to discuss these options.

Moving Schools?

If you are moving into the area or would like your child to join Primrose Hill during the school year, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

Before applying, we recommend contacting the school office. We will be happy to discuss availability, answer your questions and arrange a visit wherever possible.

Once a place has been offered, we will work closely with your family and your child's previous school to ensure a smooth transition.

Waiting Lists and Appeals

If there are no places available, Lancashire County Council manages waiting lists in line with its admissions arrangements.

Parents have the right to appeal against a decision not to offer a place.
