PE, Sport & Physical Activity

At Euxton Primrose Hill, we believe that being active, enjoying sport and developing healthy habits are an important part of growing up.

We want every child to have the opportunity to be active, try new sports, develop their skills and discover activities they enjoy. Through our PE curriculum, clubs, competitions and wider opportunities, we encourage children to develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a positive attitude towards physical activity.

We are proud of the breadth of sporting opportunities available to our pupils and the enthusiasm with which our children take part.

PE at Primrose Hill

PE is an important part of our curriculum and gives children opportunities to develop physical skills, teamwork, confidence and resilience.

We provide a broad range of sporting experiences throughout the school, helping children to develop their skills and discover activities they enjoy.

Alongside curriculum PE, children have opportunities to take part in clubs, competitions and sporting events throughout the year.

Sport for Everyone

We want sport and physical activity to be something that every child can enjoy.

We encourage children to have a go, develop their confidence and celebrate their own progress, whether they are taking part recreationally or representing the school in a competition.

Swimming & Water Safety

We believe that learning to swim and developing water safety skills are essential life skills.

Swimming forms part of our PE provision in Year 2 and Year 3, with pupils taught in groups designed to maximise their swimming time and support their progress.

We monitor children's swimming development and work to ensure that pupils have the opportunity to develop confidence, competence and water-safety skills.

Our Sporting Achievements

We are incredibly proud to have been awarded the School Games Platinum Award for the second time — recognising our commitment to providing high-quality PE, sport and physical activity opportunities for our pupils.

Clubs, Competitions & Opportunities

There is always something to get involved in at Primrose Hill!

We offer a wide range of sporting and physical activity opportunities beyond the PE curriculum, giving children the chance to try new activities, develop their skills and discover sports they enjoy.

We work closely with Chorley School Sports Partnership to provide a varied programme of clubs, events and competitions throughout the year.

Our pupils have opportunities to take part in after-school clubs, inter-school competitions, festivals and other sporting events, with opportunities available across different year groups and abilities.

We want every child to have the opportunity to be active, have fun, challenge themselves and experience the sense of achievement that comes from being part of a team.

PE & Sport Premium

The PE and Sport Premium is additional government funding provided to primary schools to make sustainable improvements to PE, sport and physical activity provision.

At Euxton Primrose Hill, we use this funding to enhance opportunities for our pupils and develop sustainable improvements to the quality and breadth of PE, sport and physical activity.

Our annual report explains how the funding has been used, the impact it has had and how we intend to sustain these improvements.
