Today the children have designed, created and tested their own moving vehicles.

 

First of all, they worked in pairs to examine the materials that they could use to create their moving vehicle. They were able to test which materials would work well as axles and wheels and see how to attach everything together.

When the children had done this, they were able to design their moving vehicle and label the different materials they would need to create it. They had to communicate really well with their partners to ensure that they agreed on how to create their design. They did this brilliantly!

Then the children created their vehicle with their partners. We all tested them together and the children were able to say what had worked really well and ways to improve the design in the future.

I was really impressed with the children’s teamwork and their communication skills this afternoon, as well as their fabulous designs.
