Planting in Maple class

In Maple class, we cannot wait for everything outside to start growing!

Today, we split into groups so that we could do some planting.

Our first group planted some Rocket lettuce leaves into trays. We had to put soil in the trays then make sure that the seeds were covered.

Our second group were in charge of planting the spinach seeds. These were a little bigger than the Rocket lettuce seeds so we could handle these a little better.

Our third group was in charge of planting Sunflower seeds. In our English lessons before the Easter holidays, the children created explanation texts all about the life cycle of a Sunflower. Hopefully we’ll be able to see this in action soon.

Our fourth group planted peas into a planting box outside our classroom.

Our final group planted potatoes.

We can’t wait to see how everything grows over the next few weeks. We had a lot of fun today!
