Maple class study The Twits

Our current topic in English is studying stories by the same author so we are reading books by Roald Dahl. The children have really enjoyed the first few chapters of The Twits and laughter can be heard coming from our classroom as we find out more about the characters and their silly pranks.

Today, we have focussed our learning on studying vocabulary within a text. We highlighted brilliant adjectives and verbs from a chapter of the book and used an online thesaurus to find synonyms to build up our word bank. We’re going to use these in our own writing.

We’re looking forward to continuing with the book and seeing what the characters get up to.
