Maple class – testing exercise in Science

In our Science topic, we have been learning all about humans and how to be healthy. Today, we decided to test which exercise makes or bodies work harder. We worked in small groups and chose three exercises to test like running, jumping, skipping, stretching, walking etc.

Using a timer to keep it fair, we completed an exercise as a group and then felt our heartbeats. We tried hard to count our heartbeat roughly to see how fast it was beating after different exercises so we could compare them at the end.

We realised that our hearts were beating quickly after jumping, hopping and running, but didn’t beat very quickly when stretching and walking.

The children were able to record their results and explain them to the rest of the class.

Well done Maple class!
