As a school, we aim to ensure that education is the very best it can be and seek opportunities to quality assure our provision as much as possible. The information below provides a summary of quality assurance that our school has engaged in.

LEARNING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Euxton Primrose Hill has shown itself to have a strong commitment to providing excellent learning outside the classroom (LOtC) to its pupils by achieving the national LOtC Gold Mark.

Awarded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC), LOtC Mark accredits those schools that have a strong awareness of the benefits of providing frequent, continuous and progressive LOtC experiences to all pupils and have begun to integrate LOtC into the life of the school. By using the outdoors at Primrose Hill, we make learning real and develop critical thinking skills that are often lacking on entry, equipping pupils with lifelong skills as well as a global awareness that our world is a finite resource that we must work hard to sustain.

PRIMARY SCIENCE QUALITY MARK

We are delighted to have been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark, awarded to schools demonstarting a commitment to excellence in science teaching and learning, for the second consecutive time.

The Primary School Quality Mark programme ensures effective leadership of science,  enables schools to work together to share good practice and is supported by professional development led by local experts. It encourages teacher autonomy and innovation while at the same time offering a clear framework for development in science subject leadership, teaching and learning. Schools that achieve PSQM demonstrate commitment and expertise in science teaching and leadership.

The Primary Science Quality Mark is led by the University of Hertfordshire, School of Education in collaboration with the Primary Science Teaching Trust.

Jane Turner, PSQM National Director said: “Gaining a Primary Science Quality Mark is a significant achievement for a school.  The profile and quality of science teaching and learning in each awarded school is very high. Children are engaging with great science both in and outside the classroom, developing positive attitudes towards science as well as secure scientific understanding and skills. Science subject leaders, their colleagues, head teachers, children, parents and governors should be very proud”.

QUALITY IN STUDY SUPPORT

We are delighted to have been awarded the Quality in Study Support Award at the established level for the second consecutive time. This award recognises good practice in supporting pupils to achieve their full potential in all areas of school life including extra-curricular clubs and enrichment opportunities.

PRIMARY QUALITY MARK

We are very proud to have been awarded the Primary Quality Mark for the third time.

The Basic Skills Quality Mark is an award that celebrates and supports continuous improvement in literacy and numeracy.

It is awarded to a setting or school to recognise their provision, practice and performance in literacy and numeracy, and is valid for three years.

A school or setting must demonstrate a whole school approach to improving standards in literacy and numeracy, with evidence of the impact of its approaches. It provides a framework for self-evaluation and continuous improvement of the basic skills of all pupils in a school, including those who underachieve and those who under attain.

ECO SCHOOLS AWARD

We are passionate about our commitment to our environment and our hard work has enabled us to achieve the Eco School Green Flag Award over three consecutive assessments.

BT TECH FACTOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

We are delighted to announce that the school was selected as the national champion in the BT Tech Factor competition. The pupils devised a compelling vision for how Virtual Reality Technology could be used in the school to develop Teaching and Learning. The pupils now have access to Virtual Reality headsets and use these across the curriculum helping bring learning to life. To view our winning entry click here.
