No Pens Day Wednesday in Elm Class !

We had lots of fun in Elm class today when we abandoned writing and practiced some art skills!

We started thinking about lots of words to describe our families , and we had an amazing list.  It was a fabulous vocabulary discussion.

The children came up with.....

caring, strong, welcoming, thoughtful, artistic, scientific, warm, loving, kind-hearted, understanding, resilient , honest calm , respectful and so many more ! 
 

We looked at some Adrinka designs in African culture and discovered that the families would make their own cloth so that they reflected what type of person they were. 
 

We designed our own Adrinka patterns on the computer , before cutting out in card, ready for our printing blocks later.

We wish we could have no pens day Wednesday every week !
