Creating Blood in Year 6

K2 class had an absolutely wonderful afternoon making blood. We used household ingredients to represent the different components within blood, such as marshmallows for white blood cells and pom-poms for platelets. The children then had to work out roughly how many of each they were allowed to put into their blood, so that the levels were correct.
