Olympus had a great afternoon exploring the woods, meadow and pond looking for different insects, amphibians and plants. They found a huge variety indicating a healthy ecosystem.

Maple class learning about the Islamic faith

Maple class had a wonderful afternoon with Aisha, learning all about the Islamic faith. She taught us about the 5 pillars of Islam and even let us try on one of her hijabs.

Mont Blanc have had a great time exploring the meadow, woods and pond for insects, amphibians and plants. They found a huge variety, indicating a healthy ecosystem. It was fascinating to see the different life stages of the tadpoles in our pond. They also planted seeds to look after at home.

Maple class making stop motion animations

Maple class had a great morning, discovering how to create their very own stop motion animation, starting with creating their own flip book and then creating a real animation with Lego, using iMotion on the iPads. Thank you Ian Wilson for your expert guidance.

Year 6 K2 Spanish Sessions with Worden High School

On Friday, Year 6 were extremely lucky to have a visit from Worden High School, who came in to teach the basics of the Spanish language. As the majority of Year 6 will be learning Spanish in September, when they move onto pastures new, this was a fantastic experience, which will hopefully give them a head start.

Tending to our Trees in Rivington 🌳

We loved starting to tend to our trees last week! We weeded them, mulched them, watered them and even talked and sang to them! Everyone is very exciting to keep caring for them throughout the rest of the year.

Year 6 K2 Westholme STEM Challenge

Year 6 enjoyed a visit from Westholme High School last week. We were set with a challenge to build the most buoyant boat in the class. In the end, we had two groups, who tied to have the most effective boat. However, I was amazed by the ingenuity of all groups. Well done Year 6!

Year 3 Pendle Gardening afternoon

Pendle Class spent the sunny afternoon weeding and taking care of some of the trees on the school grounds. Each group were assigned a tree to weed, mulch and water. Some even gave their tree a name!
