  • Elm Class - Celebrating 50 years of Primrose Hill.

Fri 11 Dec 2020 Miss Pearson

We had a great day this week when we celebrated the news that our school has been officially welcoming children for 50 years !

It was a great day, finding out all about time long ago, and we discovered that the school was older than Miss Pearson (but only just !).

Elm class decided to make a panel representing all the years that Primrose Hill has been a school. We also had a party lunch which was delicious !

  • Year 5 science

    Thu 10 Dec 2020
On Tuesday and Wednesday Mont Blanc and Olympus had a whole day of science covering sound. It became a little noisy at times however a great deal was learned about what sound is, how it travels and why protecting our ears is important.
  • Olympus - 50 years anniversary

    Thu 10 Dec 2020
Today (science day yesterday!) Olympus looked at some aspects of school life from the last 50 years. They were horrified by the punishments and shiny toilet paper, baffled by the glue, pink staining teeth tablets and wooden boxed TV, and quite taken with the idea of desktop pencil sharpener and savings scheme! We also listened to various school hymns that have stood the test of time - how many can you sing?
  • Celebrating 50 years of Primrose Hill Primary School

Wed 09 Dec 2020 Mrs Bullock

The children have had a great morning learning about life in the different decades that Primrose Hill School has seen! They created Key Note presentations with details about fashions, foods, key historical events, popular music and toys of the decades.

    Great job Snowdon!

  • Celebrating the 50th Anniversary in Year 6 Everest

Wed 09 Dec 2020 Mrs Goodyear
Today Year 6 Everest took a trip down memory lane (with a little help from Dr Who and a time machine) to think back over the last 50 years of Primrose Hill. Using digital technology (Digimaps and Google Earth imagery) alongside Ordnance Survey Maps, the children tried to piece together some imagery of the school over time. We took a tour of each decade thinking what significant events from history have occurred over the last 50 years. The children shared some fascinating insights into their own families and connections to Primrose over that time. In addition, we tried to imagine what the 75th Anniversary celebrations might look like in the future and how the school might change over the next 25 years. Finally, we created some Op Art to show our time travel for the day. We look forward to sharing together some more memories over the course of the year.
  • 50th Anniversary

Wed 09 Dec 2020 Miss Blackwell and Mrs Higson
Today we talked about the school building turning 50 years old in the summer. As we are looking forward to what Santa might bring us, our teachers brought in some presents that they received from Santa when they were little. We saw Mrs Nash’s favourite dolly, Mrs Higson’s dolls tea set, Mrs Rigby’s etch-a-sketch, Mrs Mansley’s favourite teddy and Miss Blackwell Russian dolls.
  • Maple class - DT sewing puppets

Wed 09 Dec 2020 Mrs Di Franco
We have been working hard in Maple class to create our own puppets. We designed our puppets, based on a safari animal to link to our topic around Africa, then cut our puppets out. We learnt how to do the running stitch to sew our puppets together. It was tricky, but we persevered. Finally, we decorated our puppets to look like colourful safari animals. Can you guess which animals we have created?
  • Maple class - celebrating the 50th anniversary of our school

Wed 09 Dec 2020 Mrs Di Franco
Today we have had a great day learning about the history of Euxton Primrose Hill to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our brilliant school. We looked back over the past 50 years to understand the significant events that have happened throughout this time. To commemorate this special occasion, we have created a piece of artwork.
First, the children painted a tile in either yellow or green. Next, the children made a Primrose flower to stick onto their tile. Finally, we arranged these to remember this special year.
We hope you enjoy our pictures.
