  • Y3 Pendle Light topic

Mon 10 May 2021 Miss Dobbs

Over the last few weeks in class, Pendle have enjoyed learning all about light in Science. They used light boxes to see if we really can see in the dark, experimented with mirrors and reflections and learnt which materials make shadows and how we can change the size of these.

  • Move and Learn with Blackburn Rovers Community Trust - Year 6

Sat 08 May 2021 Mrs Goodyear

Year 6 are thoroughly enjoying the Move and Learn sessions delivered by Brad from Blackburn Rovers Community Trust. Alongside learning about the importance of sport on our physical and mental health, the children have been considering positive ways they can reduce screen time and move more. We are really enjoying the theory and then putting it into practice during the outdoor rugby sessions. It has been great to see the collaborative and team-work skills shown by the children; they have been championing each other and working hard. Well done Everest!

  • Jessie the school dog visits Elm Class !

    Fri 07 May 2021

We love Jessie, our new School Dog! This afternoon Jessie came to see our class for the second time and we all felt that her quiet and calm manner helped us to feel calm too.  She worked outside on the field with a group of children, others were able to take her for a walk, and we loved her joining in with us at assembly time.

We can’t wait for her to come back to see us again.

  • Super collaborative work in Snowdon

Fri 07 May 2021 Mrs Bullock

The children in Snowdon class have risen to the challenge today. They formed Mathematical think tanks, and worked the way through a number of problem solving challenges. They were allowed two consultation tokens in case they needed support from another team! Fantastic application of skills Snowdon!

  • Introducing the Next Generation of Engineers

Wed 05 May 2021 Mrs Bullock

The children have absolutely blown me away with their collaborative working, problem solving and making skills during the final phase of our DT project on bridges. The teams worked together and came up with designs which met a very specific brief, they used tools including pull saws and glue guns. Finally, their projects were  rigorously tested and awarded scores for different elements.  They were all very pleased with the final outcomes.
