  • Cross Country

    Tue 28 Mar 2023 Mrs.Hacking

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Cross Country event on Saturday at Astley Park. The enthusiasm, excitement and team spirit was infectious, despite the muddy conditions. There were determined faces at the start, perseverance round the course was obvious (even though some trainers were left behind!) and proud moments at the finish line, when everyone received their medals. Well done to our placed winner in a heat too!
Thank you to all the families who supported and children who took part, Mrs. Clements and I were so proud of you all.

  • Apple Teacher Ian Wilson visits Cedar Class

Tue 28 Mar 2023 Mrs. Hacking

Cedar Class enjoyed learning how to use the Keynote App with Ian. He taught us how to create a presentation about ‘The Four Seasons’ , linked to our Science work about seasonal change. Everyone enjoyed creating individual slides for each season, using the internet to find and input relevant pictures and how to write information for each season. We will be completing these within class and applying the skills taught.

  • Exceptional Engineers in Snowdon Class

Tue 28 Mar 2023 Mrs Bullock

Our classroom has turned into a Structural Engineering Hub today! After being given a design brief, the children have individually designed a bridge then presented their ideas to the rest of their team. They then had to come up with a blueprint and costing forecast for their resources. We will keep you posted with the process over the week.

  • Art and Technology combine in Elm Class

Tue 28 Mar 2023 Miss Pearson

We had a fantastic time with Ian when he came to teach us lots of new skills with Sketches for Schools.  We learned how to use the opacity tool and use pictures to trace.

We have been looking at trees in Art and we are going to be looking at the work of Gustav Klimt, so we had a go at drawing fantastic trees and imaginary landscapes.

I know you will love our results, and we do too!

  • EYFS- Easter cakes

Mon 27 Mar 2023 Miss Blackwell

Reception loved making Easter cakes with cornflakes, chocolate and mini eggs. We talked about the changing state of the chocolate and the time it would take to melt it. They were very good at resisting the temptation to lick the spoon and their fingers!

  • EYFS- floating and sinking

Mon 27 Mar 2023 Miss Blackwell

Reception have loved exploring the objects in the water. They tested which floated and which sank.

  • Great Big Schools Clean Up

    Mon 27 Mar 2023

Children from across the school have been taking part in the Great Big Schools Clean Up, giving up their lunchtime to litter pick around school. Children from EYFS to year 6 also litter picked in the local community last Friday. We have been blown away by their enthusiasm and the number of children who have been inspired to litter pick outside of school! As they have been telling us - every piece of litter picked up is one less that can harm wildlife.

  • L.S.Lowry Artwork in Cedar Class

    Fri 24 Mar 2023 Mrs.Hacking

This term, we have been learning about the artist L.S.Lowry and we have been using his artwork to inspire ours. We have studied some of his paintings using viewfinders to look carefully at the buildings and people in them. We had fun taking photographs of ourselves in an L.S Lowry pose (matchstick person). Then we edited our photos and used them in our own industrial pictures, which we created with Danny, the artist from the Lowry. Some budding artists here.

  • Fruit kebabs in Cedar class

    Fri 24 Mar 2023 Mrs.Hacking

This term, we have really enjoyed our Design Technology topic on food. We tasted different fruits, designed a fruit kebab and then had fun making and eating it, as the pictures show!
