Year 6 K2 Spanish Sessions with Worden High School
Mon 22 May 2023On Friday, Year 6 were extremely lucky to have a visit from Worden High School, who came in to teach the basics of the Spanish language. As the majority of Year 6 will be learning Spanish in September, when they move onto pastures new, this was a fantastic experience, which will hopefully give them a head start.

Tending to our Trees in Rivington 🌳
Mon 22 May 2023We loved starting to tend to our trees last week! We weeded them, mulched them, watered them and even talked and sang to them! Everyone is very exciting to keep caring for them throughout the rest of the year.

Year 6 K2 Westholme STEM Challenge
Mon 22 May 2023Year 6 enjoyed a visit from Westholme High School last week. We were set with a challenge to build the most buoyant boat in the class. In the end, we had two groups, who tied to have the most effective boat. However, I was amazed by the ingenuity of all groups. Well done Year 6!

Year 3 Pendle Gardening afternoon
Sun 21 May 2023Pendle Class spent the sunny afternoon weeding and taking care of some of the trees on the school grounds. Each group were assigned a tree to weed, mulch and water. Some even gave their tree a name!

Year 6 Careers Day
Fri 19 May 2023Year 6 we were extremely lucky to host the first ever Career’s Day on Monday. We were joined by lots of expert speakers who told us all about their chosen careers and the paths they took to get there. Year 6 came away feeling very inspired. We wanted to extend another massive thank you to all of those who took part and came to speak to us!

EYFS- Creepy Crawley Roadshow
Wed 17 May 2023Reception loved our visit from The Creepy Crawley Roadshow. John brought lots of mini beasts for us to hold and told us lots of facts about them.

Y5 Mont Blanc - active science!
Wed 17 May 2023Today Mont Blanc had a very active, outdoor day. Starting with weeding and mulching trees around school, to protect them and enhance our biodiversity, then a session with teachers from Westholme High School designing and building barges, the afternoon included a hunt for information about metamorphosis.

EYFS Church visit
Thu 11 May 2023Reception had a wonderful visit to the church this morning. We walked around the churchyard, shared a story then listened to Reverend Amy who let us explore inside the church. She told us about different features inside and even let us play on the organ.
